The Word Behind Our Name
λάομα [ˈla.o.ma ]
Cypriot Greek. From the ancient αλάομαι — to wander, to be at a loss, to move without knowing quite where you're going.
In the Cypriot dialect, λάομα means madness. The frenzy of something that takes hold of you. The shock of the unexpected — that split-second jolt when something hits you and you don't know whether to laugh, run, or stay for more.
That's what a good live event does. It unsettles you in the best possible way. It pulls you somewhere you didn't plan to go and leaves you wanting to go back.
We chose the name deliberately. What we do isn't entirely rational. It's LAOMA.

We know this is a long one, but please read!
Picture this: late-night brainstorming sessions, scripting laughs that echo through Black Brick walls, staging quizzes where strangers become friends, and performances that feel like something you weren't supposed to witness but will never forget.
That's us. Three Cypriots — young, restless, and obsessed with making events that have never been done before.
We started making events because we wanted to go to events that didn't exist yet. Quiz nights with a real edge. Stand-up that actually packed a room. Performances where local and international artists shared the same stage and neither felt out of place. Pop-ups in spots you'd walk past without noticing.
Every event we make is an original. No templates, no recycled formats — just a brief, a blank page, and the people brave enough to fill it.
